BRIAN RODDEN, SHA Heraldic Miniaturist
Brian was born in Washington, DC May 16, 1938, and lived in Washington for ten years, He later moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey and then to Dover, New Hampshire. He attained BA from Rutgers University, an MA from the University of Wisconsin, and finally a PhD in History, again from Rutgers University. He taught history at Stonehill College from 1968 to 1970.
Having worked with miniature sculptures since he was ten years old, he took on the craft as a full-time sculptor. His first commissions were through Boston jewelers and antique dealers Shreve, Crump, and Low Co. In 1975 he began work with Lance Corporation of Hudson, Massachusetts, creating sculptures for national distribution.

- 1978 MFCA First Prize for portrayal of Henry IV, King of England
A book about his work, The Heraldic Knights and Sculptures of Brian Rodden, by Philip J. Bennett was pu blished by Blurb in 2011.
