KEITH RAES, SHA (Retired)

A former member of the Society (beginning in since 1997), Keith relished all heraldic commissions. This is where hand engraving excels above any mechanical or computerised method, as the latter can never match the crispness of the angled polished cutting of the burin, or the multitude of fine detail and shading.
He particularly enjoyed the challenge of researching family crests, coats of arms and heraldic devices utilising his heraldic library for confirming details both pictorial, text, and cross-referencing.
