DAVID ROBERT WOOTEN, HonFSHA

David is originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA, and after decades of relocating is proud to call it home once again. He majored in Ancient Near Eastern History, though his professional career ran the gamut from retail sales and management, to manufacturing, to marketing, to corporate sales, and even real estate. Relatively retired, he now focuses on graphic design – with a heavy emphasis on all things heraldic, as well as publishing and writing innumerable newsletters, journals, and books.

He serves as Executive Director of The American College of Heraldry and is a Distinguished Fellow of the same organization. In this capacity he has worked with hundreds of individuals from around the world designing and registering their armorial bearings with the College. Since 1990 he has served as the Editor of the College’s quarterly – and penned numerous articles for – The Armiger’s News, now reaching its 50th year in publication.

He also still keeps his graphic hand in producing digital/clipart emblazonments for hundreds of members of the Discord Rolls of Arms server.

Separate from his heraldic duties, he is also Founder/Director of The International Sister Fidelma Society, and serves as the Editor of its thrice-yearly publication, The Brehon, Journal of The International Sister Fidelma Society. In addition, he is also involved in far too many other organizations and societies to list here.
