My interest in Heraldry began in 1956. I attendeda course of evening classes under the tutelage of Gillie Potter, followed in 1964 by evening classes in heraldic art with Norman Manwaring and, later, week-long courses in calligraphy and heraldic design with Anthony Wood.
I joined the Heraldry Society in 1957 and was elected an Honorary Fellow in 2000. I became a Craft Member of the Society of Heraldic Arts in 1997 and was elected as a Fellow in 2012.
I undertake various commissions, but my main body of work in recent months has been as a recording artist at the College of Arms. I have an ongoing project in English Civic Heraldry.
